Software Engineer. Builder. Dad. Theme park connoisseur.

Hi, I'm a software engineer who builds things — software, hardware, and occasionally furniture without reading the manual. If it involves semicolons or screws, I'm probably already tinkering with it.

On the software side, I work across the stack: systems design, databases, the occasional interface that actually feels good to use. On the hardware side: electronics, woodworking, anything where I get to hold a real tool. The projects I like best are the ones that sit at the boundary of physical and digital — those problems tend to be the most interesting, and failure is more tactile.

I'm curious in a way that's hard to switch off. I like problems that reward patience, and the feeling of something clicking after sitting with it long enough. Most of what I've learned came from pulling at a thread to see where it went. My son has the same thing, which I consider a win.

Outside of work, I'm a dad. My son loves theme parks and water parks, and I've made peace with the fact that our family vacations will always involve lines, sunscreen, and overpriced ice cream. I research the rides. He overrules my research. We both end up soaking wet. No complaints.

This blog is where I write about what I'm building, learning, and occasionally what I thought I understood until I tried to explain it. Thanks for stopping by.
